NEIGHBOUR DAY

National Neighbour Day is held in the last week of March every year, the main aim of Neighbour Day is to build better relationships with the people who live around us,  especially the elderly and vulnerable.

Neighbours are important because good relationships with others can and do change communities. Social connection also makes us feel better as it helps prevent loneliness, isolation and depression. .

On March 23rd, we partnered with The Illawarra Forum and held a morning tea at Anderson Avenue and an afternoon tea at Massingham Avenue to celebrate Neighbour Day. We bought together the people in the complexes to have a cuppa and indulge in some hot cross buns, Easter eggs and some delicious fruit.

It’s the perfect day to say thanks for being a great neighbour and for being there when I needed you most.
