Youth Accommodation Project

Delivered in partnership with Shoalhaven Community Alliance member CareSouth.

With a number of developments in our pipeline, one highlight is the delivery of a fit for purpose redevelopment; a modern boarding house in the Shoalhaven providing up to seven units of accommodation whilst redeveloping a single 60 year old property. Co-designed with our strategic partner CareSouth, the property has been tailored to meet the housing needs of young people leaving the out of home care sector. The boarding house will provide safe, affordable and secure housing to support the longer-term transition of young people as they journey towards independence.

Each unit of accommodation is fully self-contained with a private entry, bathroom, laundry, kitchenette, living and bedroom zones, as well having direct access to private outdoor space. The design provides flexibility for the provision communal spaces and provides two fully accessible units of accommodation. The communal space may be used for everyday living, hosting living skills courses or a staffing area should on-site support may be required from time to time.
